The Colorado State University Foundation is collecting money that will be donated to Columbine High School, victims and their families. Contributors should make checks payable to "Colorado State Cares" and mail them to CSU Foundation, P.O. Box 1870, Fort Collins, 80522-1870.

The Columbine High School Alumni have established a Relief Fund and are challenging alumni to donate dollars matching their year of graduation (for example, Class of "82 members donate $82) to: Columbine Alumni Relief Fund, c/o the Jefferson Foundation, 809 Quail St., Lakewood 80215

The Jefferson County School District has asked that any donations to assist Columbine High School students and their families be sent to the Jefferson Foundation, attention Columbine Fund, c/o: 809 Quail Street, Building 1, Lakewood 80215. The Jefferson Foundation is a nonprofit organization formed to help support the district"s schools.

Mile High United Way has collaborated with other Denver-area foundations to be the primary receiver of online donations for victims of the massacre and for agencies providing youth violence prevention programs. Secure donations can be made to the Mile High Healing Fund at: www.donornet.com" and www.unitedwaydenver.org

Columbine Commercial Federal Bank has started a relief fund to assist those who have suffered as a result of the tragedy. Donations may be made at any Commercial Federal Bank in Colorado.

King Soopers has established a support fund for the Columbine High School community. The grocery store chain will process donations to a dedicated account at the Sooper Credit Union through all 77 store locations. Preaddressed envelopes are available at the stores. Checks or money orders should be made payable to: Columbine High School Fund, Sooper Credit Union, 5590 W. Evans Ave. Denver 80227

The South Metro Chamber of Commerce has established a fund to support Columbine students, their families and the school: Columbine Support Fund, c/o Colorado Business Bank, 101 W. Mineral Ave., Littleton 80120

Safeway stores in Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska and New Mexico are collecting funds to be donated to victims" assistance agencies.

The Baha'i Center of Metro Denver established the Baha"i Columbine Fund. Send donations to: Baha'i Columbine Fund, c/o Vectra Bank, 717 17th St., Suite 100, Denver 80202

The Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Methodist Church has created an emergency fund for the Columbine community. Churches and individuals may mark checks for the "Columbine Tragedy" and mail them to: Rocky Mountain Conference ‹ UMC, Dan O"Neill, Treasurer, 2200 S. University Blvd., Denver 80210

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs has established a scholarship for Columbine High School students who plan to attend the university. Contributions may be sent to: Columbine High School Trust Fund, CU-Foundation, CU-Colorado Springs, P.O. Box 7150, Colorado Springs 80933-7150

Citywide Banks has opened a fund for families affected by the shootings that is being administered by United Way. Donations to: The Citywide Banks Healing Fund P.O. Box 128, Aurora 80040

US West Foundation and retired US West Pioneers have established a Columbine Community Fund to help meet short- and long-term needs of the Columbine High community. US West will match all employee and Pioneers donations up to $150,000 through its foundation. All donations regardless of size will be accepted through June 1 to: US West Foundation, Attn: Julie Wetteland, 1801 California St., Room 1360, Denver 80202

In an effort to raise money for families of Columbine High School students, the Denver Fire Department and youth from the Montbello/Green Valley Ranch areas will hold car washes May 8 at three Downtown fire stations located at 745 W. Colfax Ave., 1890 Lawrence St., and 1300 Blake St. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Columbine High School Memorial Fund.

Albertson"s Food & Drug stores is encouraging its customers to forward donations, assisting Columbine High School students and families, to Janice Mudrock, Mile High United Way at 2505 18th Street, Denver 80211, account number 84-04-04-235.

Creating a place for teens - Friends in Transition of Denver and the Angel Foundation of Arvada hope to establish a coffeehouse where kids can go to be kids. "We want to create a place in Jefferson County where kids are being heard and being guided," said Aricia LaFrance, project coordinator. Adult and peer mentors will be provided for the targeted youth, ages 8 and older, she said. "We just started putting this together today." Donations of cash, books and games are being accepted, and volunteers are sought as mentors. Anyone interested can contact LaFrance at 303-460-1551.

Jaycees plan "unevent" - The Littleton Jaycees are sponsoring an UnDinner to benefit the Columbine High School Library. There is no event to attend, but the $10 donation will be used to help replace items in the library. To participate, please send your donation to: Columbine High Library Fund, c/o the Littleton Jaycees, P.O. Box 1008, Littleton 80160-1008.

A memorial garden fund has been established by Colorado Garden Show Inc. in honor of the students who were killed at Columbine High School. Colorado Garden Show Inc., the nonprofit organization that produces the annual Colorado Garden & Home Show, has donated $10,000 to establish the Columbine Students" Memorial Garden Fund, which will pay for development of a memorial garden and meditation center in Clement Park, which is adjacent to Columbine High School.
